MalaysiaKu RumahKu

I don't understand. The biggest news we have going on right now in our country prior to and after elections are a focus on racial tensions?

What?

How is it that what is being projected out there is not the actual thing that is actually happening in our country? How is it that if I really wanted to, tomorrow I could take my mum's car out and drive to my Malay friends' house and have a makan there without feeling like I would be judged for the very core of what makes me who I am?

What I am really trying to get at is (the above is just an example) but really, what I'm trying to get at is that, we as Malaysians do not actually have a serious racial problem. Hence the 'what?' If we don't actually have a serious problem with this issue, why are our beloved politicians talking on a world wide arena and addressing something at large, something, which isn't even there in the first place? I really don't understand (sorry, me being emotional and not actually getting my main point across).

We the rakyat, do not have a racial problem. In fact, why don't you pay a visit to the mamak stall.

We may mingle with our own kind, but that is solidarity. (And, it is only natural to feel comfortable with our own kind) but, do you know something? As a Malaysian, I cant even picture myself thinking like that. My own kind is not a colour. My own kind are my other fellow Malaysians I grew up with, got to know, spent time with, and have come to know as my 'own' kind. You know? The 'Malaysian' kind? Yeah.

I really hope that our politicians (fine, maybe they are always getting slammed somehow or the other, so maybe they're just reacting) but I really hope that they would focus on actual issues that our society faces as a whole. Instead of instigating disunity amongst the people when we don't really have a racial disharmony problem, by and by, at large, for real. Period. Why don't we help our rakyat focus on other things, addressing the needs of all the different backgrounds, of different social-economical levels and bring our country to fairer level playing ground with the other more developed countries of the world?

I am sorry, I really just, don't understand.
