Well, I am not one. But this is what I'd imagine it to be. I think being a mum is cool. I think mum's are beautiful, pretty, awesome, and unique in their own way. When I was a kid, my mum would do random little things for fun that made us kids laugh. One that comes to mind is when my mum came back from a busy day at work, lifted me off the ground in her hands, and started spinning me around the room. Just for fun. When she stopped doing that after awhile, I wondered why. I missed that. Good times.
When I become a mum I want to..
Be a smart cookie.
Be the best baker in the world! (So that my kids could join me in the kitchen and make yummy cupcakes and muffins and get our hands all dirty!) - yes, I want to make a mess in the kitchen with them and let them know, that's fine =) As long as we clean up together after. =).
I want to read story-books to my babies and kiss them on their foreheads and tuck them in their beds and snuggle up with them and give them the biggest hugs everrrr!
I want to poke them, tickle them, and let them know, hey. Eat what you want, just lets remember how to live healthy, eat healthy (on balance) and live. life. because. God gave us Life. To remind them that hey, even if you're going to go on a snacking binge, remember, our body is a temple of God, to love and nourish our bodies, and not max out on the junk food but have some and then eat a fruit. =).
I want to take them out on picnics and love them itsy bitsy handsss!
I want them to be like me, but I don't want them to be like me. I want them to learn and make their own mistakes, but I will never ever wish that on my own kids. I think, this is just what I think, I mean hey, I'm not a mum yet, but yeah. I think, no mum could ever wish anything bad to happen to their kids. I mean, don't we (being the female species) all only want the best for our kids? Even those who struggle with issues, always live with the thought of their babies. And please, I apologise on this, as I don't really know how to relate, though its what I think the feeling would be.. So yeah. Again, sorry on this for not really being able to relate...
I want to breast- feed because I will feel more of a woman, even though I am feministic to some edges with education and our world today. It's fine to be a woman of opinion. The God I believe in made me understand that we are all equal in His sight. And to be slightly narcissistic here, I think it would be pretty cool to feel like a woman, feeding her baby.
Mum's are cool. And hey, yeah, its not mother's day yet, but you know what? If you're a mum, if you have been a mum or like me, one day hoping to be one (because a little bit in all of us girls want the fairy tale) you're cool, beautiful, amazing and lovely. =).
I cant wait to be one one day. I apologise to all the guys out there, between life's work, housework, homework and friends, you're also going to have to fight for my attention when it comes to the kids, because I know, I'm going to be loving them babies. =).
So dude. Whoever you are. I'm sorry. =).
But thank you. =)
Much love to all,
Mary Ruth
